HUBUNGAN GRIT DAN EMPATI PADA SISWA SMA

Abstract

Pendidikan mempunyai peran penting dalam perkembangan siswa, khususnya pendidikan pada tingkat sekolah menengah atas (SMA). Untuk mencapai prestasi akademik dan juga pengembangan sosial dan emosional, khususnya pada siswa SMA peneliti tertarik untuk memasukan dua konsep penting yakni grit dan empati. Grit merupakan kombinasi antara ketekunan, semangat, dan tekad untuk mencapai tujuan jangka panjang. Siswa yang memiliki grit tinggi diyakini lebih mampu mengatasi tantangan akademis, menjaga motivasi, dan bertahan dalam menghadapi hambatan. Di sisi lain kemampuan untuk mengalami dan memahami sudut pandang emosional orang lain dikenal sebagai empati. Dalam konteks pendidikan, tingkat empati siswa dapat mempengaruhi dinamika kelas, hubungan antar-siswa, dan kesejahteraan psikososial secara keseluruhan. Namun, belum jelas sejauh mana grit dapat memengaruhi aspek-aspek emosional, seperti tingkat empati, pada siswa SMA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara grit dan empati pada siswa SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional dengan analisis korelasi Spearman. Hasil analisis menghasilkan nilai r (286) = 0.137 dan p = 0.022 < 0.05. Hasil penelitian ini dapt disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara grit dan empati pada siswa SMA disekolah x. Hubungan yang positif ini menandakan semakin tinggi grit pada siswa SMA, maka semakin tinggi juga rasa empati yang dimiliki SMA. Demikian sebaliknya semakin rendah grit pada siswa SMA, maka semakin rendah juga rasa empati yang dimiliki siswa SMA. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pendekatan pembelajaran, pengembangan karakter siswa, dan merancang program khusus. Selain itu, hasil penelitian ini mendukung penyusunan kebijakan pendidikan holistik dan pembinaan kepemimpinan siswa untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan mereka.
