ANALISIS KORELASI ANTARA FUTURE ANXIETY DENGAN PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING PADA MAHASISWA TINGKAT AKHIR

Abstract

Beberapa penelitian menemukan bahwa mahasiswa yang sedang menyelesaikan skripsi cenderung merasakan yang dinamakan kecemasan akan masa depan (future anxiety). Fenomena ini umum terjadi dikarenakan usia ini adalah usia awal untuk mulai memiliki pekerjaan dan keluarga. Mahasiswa yang sedang menyelesaikan skripsi adalah kelompok individu yang akan mendominasi kelompok kerja kita di beberapa tahun yang akan datang, sehingga fungsi sosial dan keadaan psikologis mereka sangat perlu kita perhatikan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk melihat apakah terdapat hubungan antara future anxiety dengan psychological well-being pada mahasiswa yang sedang menyelesaikan skripsi. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dan menggunakan Teknik nonprobability sampling dengan metode snowball secara online sesuai kebutuhan peneliti. Partisipan dari penelitian ini terdiri dari 377 partisipan yang memiliki rentang umur 18-25 tahun. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk mengukur Future Anxiety adalah Future Anxiety Scales (FAS) sedangkan psychological well-being menggunakan alat ukur psychological well-being scales. Hasil penelitian yang didapat juga menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara perilaku future anxiety dengan psychological well-being, dengan nilai r= .523** dan p= .000 < .05. Hal ini juga berarti semakin tinggi future anxiety maka semakin rendah psychological well-being, dan semakin rendah future anxiety maka akan semakin tinggi rasa psychological well-being pada mahasiswa yang sedang menyelesaikan skripsi.
