Abstract

Palm oil plantations have a significant contribution in meeting needs and becoming an economic opportunity for palm oil farmers because the selling power of TBS is increasingly promising. The problems that occur are limited access to electricity supply and the geographical location of the plantation which is in a remote area so that the PLN network is not available or is not economical to build in this area. The aim of this research is to design an Off-Grid PLTS to meet the electrical energy needs on palm oil plantations. The research method uses the (R&D) method which has stages of Problem Analysis, Design and Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The observation results obtained a total power usage/day of 1,308 Wh. By calculating the loss from the PV Panel, the efficient energy to be generated is 2,180 Wh. The result of the calculation of the generator fuel reaches Rp. 80,640,000/year. Meanwhile, the calculation for the construction of Off-Grid PLTS only requires an initial investment of Rp. 21,986,000. From the initial investment, fuel costs can be reduced to 1,832,166/year. Measurement data from the PV Panel generation results from 11 am to 12 noon obtained a power of 229 W, a voltage of 41.4 Volts and a current of 5.5 A. 17 to 18 hours power 1.4 W, voltage 25.8 Volts and current 0.1 A. The generated energy will be stored in the battery for use at night.
